Toilet Paper Mass Suicide
In March 1999, several hundred rolls of toilet paper committed mass
suicide in Sacramento, California by hurling themselves under the wheels
of morning commuters. The carnage was terrible, with mutilated toilet
paper carcasses strewn over more than a half mile of Interstate freeway.
One of our staff members happened on the scene, and although nearly overcome
emotionally, he managed to capture these graphic images of the tragic event.
| Looking north (left) and south (right) on I-5, the smashed
and shredded bodies of the victims are visible scattered along the shoulders
where they were hurled by merciless automobile tires. |

the wheels of an oncoming vehicle directly in front of our horrified staff
member. |
